We work closely with the YHA to provide you with a completely professional residential outdoor education experience. For a full on activity break in breath-taking surroundings, St Davids takes some beating. This gorgeous corner of the Pembrokeshire coast is perfect for our water sports activities such as coasteering, sit on kayaking and body boarding. Of course there is also the famous cathedral of St Davids that is only a couple of miles walk away, Ideal for a relaxed evening activity.
The YHA have tastefully converted this traditional farmhouse into a fantastic base for your school outdoor education break. The hostel is ideal for smaller school groups with up to 35 beds in various dorms. It has a cosy lounge area for socialising and two self-catering kitchens to prepare your own food if you wish. This location is ideal for schools on a budget because you have the options of both full catering or self-catering.
With the Blue Flag beach Whitesands Bay nearby, you don’t have to go far to be enjoying a great water sports activity in the sea, or taking a spectacular coastal trek. Also close by are opportunities for Rock climbing, Mountain trekking, Bush craft, orienteering and Team initiative challenges.
If you’re a wildlife lover, you’re spoilt for choice as the hostel is surrounded by an idyllic landscape. Walking groups can join us for a scenic coastal trek on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which is just ten minutes away from the hostel. Dolphins, porpoise and seals visit the coast at certain times of year, not to mention a whole range of migratory coastal bird life.
Regarding accommodation and catering there is one free teacher place for every 10 pupils. Any additional teaching staff do not pay for any activities, only the accommodation and catering, however they are of course welcome to join in activities if they wish.
