Testimonials from schools & students
Secondary school teacher
Hi Clive, we had a really super time with you. The children really enjoyed themselves and the staff said how well organised it was. I was very disappointed that I couldn’t be there, but looking forward to next time.
Thanks very much for a brilliant time and please pass on our best wishes to all the team.”

Thanks for giving us such a good time. You really made me see what I was capable of. It turns out I’m better on the outside than I am on the X-Box 360 and Wii. I really enjoyed the gorge walking.”

Thank you so much for having us at the centre the activities were fun this was the best holiday ever.
On the high ropes I really thought that it wasn’t safe, I went on because you helped me by convincing me I could do it, jumping was the best.
Thank you for pushing me to my limits and I can say with the upmost confidence that I’m not afraid of heights anymore. Plus you have helped me conquer other fears with not much difficulty.
I was really excited when I heard we were going abseiling. I really felt confident with all your help especially the instructors.”

Thank you for our visit to Llangollen. I really enjoyed it. It was so scary but so much fun. I love the high ropes course.
Thank you for letting us do the activities and for helping us if we get stuck.
In abseiling it looked really scary and high up but I wanted to give it a go so I did and wanted to do it again. I was so scared on the high ropes but when I got to the top I loved it.
When I first saw the ropes course I thought oh I am never going to be able to jump and hit the ball but when I got to the top of the pole and they counted down from three and I jumped I felt really good inside.”

Exceptional, Professional and extremely proficient are the words to describe Pro-Active Adventure not to mention the depth of knowledge and experience this company delivers to the aspiring mountain bike instructor.”
Curly Turrington, Pongo Pete
After attending the M.I.A.S. level 2 Mountain Bike course run by Pro-Active Adventure I was so much impressed by the course content, the way it was presented by the instructors, that I wanted to become an instructor.
After leading groups and attending a cycle maintenance course I contacted Clive for advice about further training as an instructor with Pro-Active Adventure.
The support and advice both Clive and John gave me while teaching on their M.I.A.S. course’s helped me on to become a Trainer /Assessor Level 4.”

Mark Connolly, Mountain bike instructor for ‘Mountain Bike Motivation’
The extremely professional, confident and knowledgeable leadership of Pro-Active Adventure in Morocco, not only enabled the whole of are team to have a great enjoyable and safe expedition, it also allowed us to engage with the culture and attitudes of the Morocco people.”
The trip to morocco was a once in a life time experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by me and my peers, I feel that Clive’s contribution to the trip was one of the most important aspects to making it an enjoyable experience as all the activities we did ran smoothly and efficiently, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Clive for all the work he put into the Morocco trip to make it an great experience and would be extremely happy to do more work with Clive as he is a brilliant team leader with an excellent attitude to his work.”
The trip to Morocco was a one in a lifetime opportunity that i personally benefited from and I think it also had a big impact on the others that went. The whole trip went very smoothly and I don’t think this would have happened without the leadership of Clive Richley and Pro-Active Adventure. Clive was a very friendly person and knew a lot about morocco and outdoor activities.”
University senior lecturer
The input from Jon and his staff was first class and the feedback from the students was extremely positive. The structure of the input and the opportunities to “explore “ their abilities is very impactive upon the individuals. I feel that the staff really do go the extra mile to ensure that the students not only undertake the tasks, but also understand the learning and development outcomes from doing so.”
MSc students & staff
Prior to the team building weekend the group had been struggling with low trust levels, tensions, intercultural conflicts, dominance struggles and competitiveness. The team building activities significantly contributed to the improvement of the group dynamics, mutual understanding and individual self confidence which proved to be highly beneficial for the students’ academic and professional development. It greatly increased the trust levels within the group, which is very important for their study experience and group work. It also encouraged students to learn about themselves and engage in their personal analysis, acknowledging their weaknesses and areas for improvement and future development planning.
Personally, I grade the weekend in Wales a professional as well as a personal success. This bond and knowledge also helped in supporting one another individually when confronted with professional or personal difficulties during our stay.
The team building weekend really brought the class together. I had a great time even though I was one of the biggest sceptics in the class before we left.”
University head of department
Personally, I was very pleased with the variety of activities, and the sensitive way in which people were treated. Also the instructors related the methodology being used by the various teams when carrying out tasks to the overall theme of EFFECTIVE team building. Overlying it was a sense of personal achievement by many team members. I have no reservations about recommending a similar day to any and all teams.”
Just wanted to take a bit of time out to pass on my gratitude for another fabulous weekend with the Frontier Ed. guys. They really are an exceptional bunch who help the students to achieve so much. Have been trying to figure out how to explain to someone what you all do and why it’s of benefit to the students. It’s really hard to put it into words because it’s so all encompassing. Thank you for helping them to develop skills which they can take forward into their university and professional lives and for making our job so much easier!”
I found the day with the students a real struggle, but following some good advice and support from Pro-Active I felt more in control.”
