A Guide to Our Facilities

The Tyn Dwr Outdoor Education Centre is comprised of Tyn Dwr Hall, a listed Victorian house of ‘Tudorbethan’ style dated c. 1866-70, a Victorian Coach House and Yurt Camp set in over seven acres of ancient woodland in the Vale of Llangollen. We specialise in adventure activity sports, outdoor education, activity holidays and outdoor pursuits.

Tyn Dwr Hall Education Centre











Tyn Dwr Hall 3* rated guest accommodation comprises of a selection of twin, triple and quadruple bedrooms all en suite and sleeps up to 25 people, 70-cover dining area, terrace, TV lounge, four teaching / meeting rooms.

Coach House Education Centre














The Victorian Couch House 3* group accommodation comprises of a selection of twin, triple, quadruple and bunk house some en-suite the rest with shared facilities, sleeps up to 40, game/social area and teaching/relaxation room.

Yurt Camp Education Centre

















The Yurt Camp comprises of four yurts, each sleeping eight, wood burner heating and exterior seating. Shower and washrooms facilities are situated in the ground floor of the couch hose. View Accommodation

On-site activities include:

  • High ropes course
  • Climbing wall

Off-Site Activities

Off-site activities include:

  • Climbing on the 4km limestone escarpment of The Eglwyseg, including Trevor Rocks and Worlds EndCooasteering
  • Mountain biking in the Vale of Llangollen, in Llandegla Forest and Horseshoe Pass
  • Canoeing on the Llangollen canal and River Dee
  • Fell walking in the Berwyn Mountains
  • Gorge walking there are a number of gorges are within easy reach of the site, varying in technicality
  • Coasteering a full day trip to some beautiful beaches for a wonderful coasteering session
  • Caving close to the only caves in North Wales
  • Within easy reach of the Snowdonia National Park and some of the most spectacular peaks in North Wales

Located close to the popular tourist town of Llangollen other activities can include the Llangollen canal boat trips and the Llangollen Steam Railway which runs trains for seven miles along the banks of the River Dee from Llangollen to Carrog through some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK.
