School Activity Trips: Coastal Trekking

On your school activity trips why not try coastal trekking? It is a great way to explore the hidden coves, beaches and all the offbeat places of interest. There are places of special scientific interest, historic industrial sites and geological wonders all waiting to be discovered by the pupils who are ready to look for them with us. We can offer coastal treks at Manorbier, St Davids in Pembrokeshire and Conwy in North Wales. Some of the best coastal treks in Wales are in Pembrokeshire where our main operational centre Manorbier is located. Here there are some real geological gems as well as some great historic sites.

If you are staying with us in North Wales at Conwy we have an interesting ridgeline hill walk that follows the coast with spectacular views over the Meni Straights to Anglesey. Also along this route you will pass an interesting stone that has a gaming board cut into it by Roman soldiers when they were stationed on the wild frontier centuries ago. Alternatively we will pop over to Anglesey to explore some of the islands wild west coast. We offer half or full day treks with our experienced guides. All have a wealth of local knowledge to show you the wild life, and any fauna and flora that we encounter.

Your pupils will need an average level of fitness however we always do our best to make all of our activities inclusive so if an pupil(s) has additional needs or support simple call and let us know and we will identify an appropriate route for everyone, that will provide both challenge and interest.

Your pupils will need the minimum of personal equipment for this activity, simply a small day rucksack, sturdy trainers or trekking boots and water proofs. However we do carry a small selection of waterproofs for those who may forget to pack them. This activity can be weather dependant so on days with heavy rain and wind we will offer an alternative that is not so exposed.
