About Us: Pro-Active Adventure, the company is owned by Clive Richley, who is a widely experienced multi-disciplinary outdoor instructor of 45 years experience. Clive is also widely travelled and brings this experience to our overseas operations. Clive has been a centre manager for over 35 years so is very experienced in this role. The senior team members who are involved in the concept and development of Pro-Active Adventure include teachers and very experienced, highly qualified instructors with world wide experience of leading outdoor education. This has given our team an excellent starting point to grow and develop our company to the extent it is today. We work closely with the YHA and The Independent Hostel association to provide one of the widest selection of Activity Destinations across Wales, at some simply stunning locations. This partnership enables the accommodation and catering experts to focus that part of operation, while we focus our expertise on the outdoor activities. Pro-Active Adventure also has an extensive history in delivering complimentary educational to a wide range of young people including those pupils who have been permanently excluded and who are now “Educated Other Than At School” (EATOS), SEND and those seen as NEET. We have been successfully delivering complimentary education across Wales for over 23 years.

We have gone to lengths to avoid the having everything on site, sausage machine style of activity provision that many of the chain outdoor education centres have become. We believe in traditional outdoor education and activities where you get out into the natural environment and immerse yourselves in the wilderness and take part in your activities on real rock, rivers, lakes and the sea. All our instructors are mature, widely experienced leaders; and they all hold National Governing Body awards in the disciplines that they lead. Their experience is gained from working with a variety of client groups across the UK, Wales and Europe.

Instructors will stay with your group for the duration of their stay. This means that a much better relationship can be developed between instructor and client, this in turn emotionally supports young people and adults to push their potential more confidently and effectively. We offer an extensive range of activities in all our operational bases which will make your residential activity visit an exciting and memorable visit. We are committed to ongoing personal development and review our practice on a regular basis, which is based on feedback from our extensive client group.
