School Activity Trips: Archery

For your school activity trips archery is one of the classic centre activities. Archery is probably one of the oldest sports skills still practiced. Probably first used in the Stone Age (20,000 BC), however the first recorded use was by the ancient Egyptians. The long bow however, which our bows today are based on, were first developed in Wales, so what an ideal place to learn the ancient skill of archery.

Pupils will be given tuition on how to use the bows safely and correctly and then coached to improve their shot. We have a selections of bows with different ‘weights’ to suit all levels of ability. We organise skills games and competitions to keep the excitement going.  It is great either as a half-day session or an evening filler if you choose to have evening activities. Archery is an ideal activity to develop responsibility, safety and trust within your pupils.
